School to Work Alliance Program

School to Work Alliance Program (SWAP) is a collaborative initiative between the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Northwest Colorado BOCES. SWAP provides case management and direct services to youth aged 15 – 24 who have mild to moderate needs in employment and are eligible to receive DVR services.

While in high school, SWAP services may include:

  • Career awareness, exploration and preparation
  • Work readiness training
  • Self-advocacy training
  • Guidance and counseling around career training and education
  • Work experience

After exiting high school, SWAP services may include:

  • Job-seeking skills training
  • Job-search activities
  • Job placement
  • Job coaching
  • Job retention skills
  • Vocational Guidance
  • One year of follow-up after job placement
