This is the image for the news article titled Changing of the GuardThe 2021-2022 school year saw the resignation of three superintendents from NW Colorado school districts - East Grand, South Routt and Steamboat Springs. Two new leaders and have been chosen and one has yet to be found. 

In February 2022, the East Grand School District Board of Directors chose Brad Ray as the new superintendent to take over when Frank Reeves retires in July. Read more about Mr. Ray here in the SkyHi News.

The South Routt School District has chosen Dr. Kirk Henwood to take over when Rim Watson retires in July. According to this article in the Steamboat Pilot & Today, "Kirk Henwood is currently the superintendent of the Walsh School District, according to his LinkedIn. The district is in the southeastern Colorado town of Walsh, which has a population just over 500. He has spent much of his career with the Montrose County School District, where he was deputy superintendent from 2012 to 2017. After that, he worked as an adjunct professor in education leadership at the University of Northern Colorado.

The Steamboat Springs School District is still searching for candidates for their vacant superintendent position upon Dr. Brad Meeks' departure in July. You can find out more about the search process in this article in the Steamboat Pilot & Today.
