Carole Walsh, Transition Coordinator, leads NW BOCES to
Indicator 13 Compliance!
This fall (2010) the Colorado Department of Education conducted a student IEP file review audit related to transition requirements for students 15 and older, Indicator 13 of the State Performance Plan, and Northwest BOCES' Determination for this school year. The audit team provided positive feedback for all the hard work that has been done to provide middle and high school students appropriate IEPs related to transition. The NW BOCES met compliance and were found 100% in several areas. The report and summary can be reviewed at this link.
A sincere thanks to everyone involved in working so diligently to make improvements in student’s transition plans. It was clear from the audit that our efforts not only improved IEPs but increased awareness and discussions about programming for students with disabilities to be successful after they leave the K-12 system.
